Church gatherings take new approach for services
      Too often in large church services, we sit next to one another, yet never get to know the person beside us. To change this, the Rusk Church of Christ began meeting in small groups three Sunday nights a month.

Giving up U.S. citizenship to gain it
      I am just as much a citizen as Sen. John McCain or our President but I can’t prove it to the satisfaction of Homeland Security. My father was born in Pennsylvania. Dad served as a tail gunner in the 8’ U.S. Air Force. He caught yellow jaundice and was grounded.

Adopting a pet shouldn’t be so difficult
      I recently tried to adopt a dog from the animal shelter in Jacksonville. A woman, the manager I assume, said that I didn’t qualify because my yard wasn’t fenced and I did not have a pen to keep it in. And on top of that, she said Reklaw requires that dogs must be in a fenced yard or in a pen.

Kudos to warden, work squad
      Rusk ISD would like to send a special thanks to Warden Todd Foxworth and the Texazs Department of Criminal Justice community work squad for their work at our schools this summer. The work squad put in many hours of painting, primarily at our high school, and we have gotten many positive comments from staff, students, and parents on how well it looks.
