A project proposed in August 2007 and approved in November of the same year is now on the verge of completion, and all of Alto will reap the benefits. The new Alto Elementary School is set to be finished and open in time for the start of the new school year on Aug. 24. To mark the opening, the school district will hold opening ceremonies from 9-10 a.m. on Aug. 24.
