Jacksonville senior T.D. Black received the 2009 Rick Watson Memorial Scholarship at Monday's athletic banquet, given to a young man who is a leader on and off the field and has the respect of coaches and teammates. Downtown restaurants reported long lines and increased business as a result of special attractions like kids' face painting. The Rusk FFA continued its winning ways at both the Houston Livestock Show and the Cherokee County show. The winnings began at Houston with three projects placing in its class and one in its division. The poultry facility constructed by Ranson Gardner, Kyle Tullis, John Trotter and T.
