Just before noon on Monday, Hazel Spears, 87, of Rusk was attempting to turn her car around to leave the bank when she accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake. Memorial service for Jimmie Duncan Long, 83, of Huntsville, was at 2 p.m. at the Huntsville Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Rusk. Mr. Long died March 2. He was born on Sept. 23, 1925, in Rusk to John and Maudess Holcomb Long. Mr. Long was a long time resident of the Huntsville area, He graduated from the University of Texas with a PhD. More...
