      Bob Pearman of Alto got a special present from his oldest daughter, Ellen, this past Christmas. "She gave me my family tree. Sometimes you don't want to get your family tree because you don't know what to expect, but she did a lot of research on both my mother's and father's sides of the family.

      Tumbleweed Smith is a syndicated radio columnist. His program, "The Sound of Texas," airs at 7:23 a.m. Monday through Friday on KTLU-AM and KWRW-FM. The interview with J.D. and Bob Pearman is scheduled to run Feb. 12. His 10,000th broadcast of "The Sound of Texas" aired Feb. 7. Tumbleweed Smith (a.k.a. Bob Lewis) started the series on Aug. 1, 1969.
