Sampling in Alto, Jacksonville indicate disparity on property tax values

A study by the State Comptroller has not been very favorable for the Cherokee County Appraisal District. The comptroller's property tax assistance division said both the Jacksonville and Alto ISD values have failed state requirements for level of appraisal. Memorial service for Anita Marie Keegan Ross of Rockdale was held Feb. 2 at Seton Hospital Chapel in Austin. Ms. Ross died Saturday, Jan. 24. She was a Rockdale resident for more than a decade.
