Rusk banker James I. Perkins has donated 13 acres to the Rusk Economic Development Corporation (REDCO) for the construction of affordable housing. The land is located near Rusk State Hospital at the intersection of Cherokee, Jarred and McVicker streets and will be used to construct 48 multi-family housing units. More...

Funeral for Anthony Fitzgerald Johnson, 38, of Alto, formerly of Reklaw, was at 11 a.m. Friday in the Weeping Mary Baptist Church near Alto with Supt. Donnie Timmons officiating.
