Fighting a battle on the front lines Regulations restricting military chaplains from worship and praying according to their faith unjustly strip our service people of their First Amendment rights - and put our own freedom of speech at risk. It's even more ironic that the men and women fighting for our freedoms - including our precious First Amendment rights - are facing censorship themselves. It's even more ironic that the men and women fighting for our freedoms - including our precious First Amendment rights - are facing censorship themselves. Anyone concerned about freedom should be concerned when chaplains are being told how and how not to worship and pray. It is wrong to target the private conscience of a military chaplain or suppress his or her ministry to our men and women in the U.S. military - those who are putting their lives on the line. Through our nationwide petition campaign to protect military prayer, the ACLJ is standing with Congressman Walter Jones and calling on the President to sign an Executive Order that protects the constitutional right of military chaplains to pray and worship according to their faith. |
