Eagles conclude season Friday, the Rusk Eagles traveled to Hudson looking to end their season with an upset of the district's top team. Hudson was undefeated heading in to the finale, and Rusk was trying to end a disappointing season on a positive note. The Eagles gave their best effort, getting a solid offensive performance. The Eagles led 8-6 following the top of the fourth inning before Hudson exploded for 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth. Hudson went on to win the game 18-8. Rusk finished the district schedule with a 5-9 record in Head Coach George Banda's second year. The Eagles lose 6 seniors heading into next year, but have a strong foundation of talent in place. J.D. Beard, Colton Campbell, Trent Vaught, Blake Fletcher, Mike Lloyd and Trent Halbert will be returning to the Eagles in 2009. |
