Alto City Clean-up Scheduled

The City of Alto will have its annual clean-up day Saturday, May 17. The Allied Waste dumpster will be located at the water tower on Cemetery Street all day.

Citizens are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to remove all junk items around their homes to make the city a cleaner place.

Rubber tires can be disposed of for a fee of $3 per tire. Alto City Council member Monty Collins will dispose of all rubber tires.

Items accepted are: brush and yard waste, bulky items, household items, furniture, stoves, dishwashers, hot water heaters and paper or cardboard items.

Items not accepted are: rubber tires (without paying the $3 fee), oil and oil filters, refrigerators, air conditioning units or any appliance containing CFCs, lead acid batteries and liquids.
