Rusk teacher receives grant for field trip

Heather Beck, Rusk Intermediate School fourth grade teacher, has received a $1,000 Target teacher field trip grant.

She plans to use the money to take 40 students to the SciPort Discovery Center in Shreveport, La.

The Target Field Trip Grants program was launched in September 2006.

Funds totaled $1.6 million and were distributed in 1,600 grants this year to school professionals.
