Resignations accepted staff hired by RISD

Following an executive session Monday evening the Rusk ISD board approved the employment of Michael Miller as band director and director of the music department to replace retiring Gary Robbins. Jason Scott Schwartz was employed as high school principal to replace Ricky Hassell, who is also retiring. Mr. Miller has served the district for several years as an assistant band director and Mr. Schwartz is currently assistant principal at the high school.

The retirement of Liz Dugat, a teacher, was accepted. Resignations were accepted from Monica Hamilton, choir director and Barbara High, band director.

Employed were five teachercoaches and two teachers. They are Jason Barnes, Jay Brashear, Robert May, Samuel Wells and David Wilbanks, teacher-coaches; and Lori Enicks-Kniss and Heidi Newman, teachers.
