Yellowjacket football schedule released

The Alto Yellowjackets will begin their quest for a third straight undefeated season and state championship on the road in 2008. The Mean Sting will travel to San Augustine Aug. 29 to open the season. Alto will then come home for their home opener against Garrison Sept. 5. The next week, Sept. 12, Alto will be on the road again against Arp. The Mean Sting then comes home for two weeks in a row, hosting the Frankston Indians on Homecoming Sept. 19 and then Grapeland Sept. 26. Alto will travel to Price Carlisle on Oct. 3 and then they will be back in action at home on Oct. 10 against Overton. Alto then travels to Cross Roads on Oct. 17. The last home game of the year will be Oct. 24 as the Jackets host Cushing for Senior Night. The regular season finale will be Oct. 31 when Alto heads to Cayuga. With the district having an odd number of teams, the Mean Sting will have their bye week during district on Nov. 7.
