Rusk student will participate in summer leadership academy
Youth's selection was based on academic skills
      Justin Hunt, son of Mike Coulter and Joanna Hunt and a fifth grade student at Rusk Intermediate School, will participate in the Education in Action's Lone Star Leadership Academy. The event will be held in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, June 23-27.

Fuel for Life blood drive slated April 29
      The Cherokee County Electric Co-Op, 29880 U.S. Highway 69 North in Rusk will host a blood drive from 1:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 29. The blood bus will be parked in the parking lot. Those contributing are asked to eat a god meal and bring a picture identification.

Writers sponsor new chapter
      The religious writing organization, Inspirational Writers Alive! will sponsor a new Tyler IWA! chapter. The new chapter will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Tyler Christian Fellowship, 3421 Old Jacksonville Highway, one-fourth mile off Loop 323. The group is interdenominational.
