Murder for hire plot foiled
BY JEREME HUBBARD

RHONDA STONE
The Cherokee County Sheriff's Department helped foil a murder for hire plot April 10 in Jacksonville.

Investigators learned that 40-year-old Rhonda Stone had several conversations with people she believed would help her carry out a murder of her ex-husband, Morris Stone of Jacksonville.

The Cherokee County District Attorney's office along with investigators, established sufficient probable cause to seek an arrest warrant.

Mrs. Stone was arrested in Jacksonville for criminal solicitation to commit capital murder Friday, April 11 around 8:45 p.m. Mrs. Stone is currently being held in the Cherokee County Jail on a $200,000 bond issued by Cherokee County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Judge James Morris.
