Boater safety course slated

The Cherokee County Farm Bureau will sponsor a boater safety course from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. April 19 at the Southern Cherokee Federal Credit Union in Rusk.

Persons born after Sept. 1, 1984, and who are under 18 years of age, are required to take the course in order to operate a personal watercraft.

Cost is $28 per persons. A social security number and identification is required. Persons under 16 may use their student identification. Other identification cards may be obtained at the Texas Department of Public Safety. Registration is required by April 17 with Rhonda Robinson at (903) 683-2576.
