Grand Jury returns 15 indictments

A Cherokee Grand Jury returned 15 indictments March 24 in the 2nd Judicial District Court.

The indictments included murder charges against Jessie Smith, 49, of Rusk, for the Aug. 19, 2007, death of James Keon Jordan, 24, of Tyler, at a family reunion on FM 2962.

Others indicted were:

• Christopher Stine, 20, of Jacksonville, charged with aggravated sexual assault on June 11, 2005

•Fredrick Whitaker, 21, of Jacksonville, charged with aggravated sexual assault on June 11, 2005

•Name unavailable for a persons charged with aggravated sexual assault on June 11, 2005.

•Camron Hart, 26, of Jacksonville, charged with escape on Feb. 27

•Michael Russell, 32, of Pollok, charged with possession of a controlled substance on April 28, 2007

•Mark Thompson, 30, of Corpus Christi, charged with burglary of a habitation on April 16, 2006

•John Langham, 38, of Jacksonville, charged with DWI for the third or more offense on July 9, 2007

•Dora Laborico, 40, of Jacksonville, charged with fraudulent use or possession of identifying information on April 28, 2006

•Spencer Adams, 26, of Flint, charged with possession a controlled substance on April 1, 2006

•Tyrus Waggoner 34, of Jacksonville, charged with burglary of a habitation on Sept. 5, 2006

•Nicole Aguilar, 22, of Jacksonville, charged with possession of a controlled substance on Dec. 10, 2006

•Emmanuel Griffin, 17, of Rusk, charged with burglary of a habitation and criminal mischief, both on Aug. 12, 2007

•Roderick Silmon, 19, of Jacksonville, charged with robbery on Jan. 7

•Cresenciano Alvarez, 43, of Jacksonville, charged with DWI for the third or more offense on Jan. 6.
