Rusk man remains in ICU after motorcycle wreck A Rusk man was critically injured when his motorcycle left the roadway striking an object in the ditch on Loop 343 near Tommy's Automotive in Rusk. The accident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6. Norman "Chazdon" McIntyre, 24, was airlifted from the scene with numerous back and shoulder injuries sustained in the crash. He was transported to ETMC in Tyler where he remains in the Intensive Care Unit. His injuries include a separated shoulder and two fractures in his back, said Ricky McIntyre Sr., his father. Mr. McIntyre said medical personnel were initially concerned that Chazdon might lose his arm, but gained optimism when he was able to move his fingers after the reattachment surgery. He explained the concern now is keeping infection from setting in. The Rusk Police Department, volunteer fire department, ETMC EMS and Air-One responded to the accident. Chazdon is a 2002 graduate of Rusk High School, where he played football. |
