Mission Tejas holds Folk Festival Saturday

The Mission Tejas State Historic Site will hold the third annual Folk Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Mission Tejas Park on State Highway 21 in Weches. Several pioneer arts will be demonstrated and re-enactors will recreate the lives of buffalo soldiers, gun fights and cowboy camps.

Visitors are invited to bring a picnic lunch and limited camp sites are available for the weekend. Entry fees will be waived for the day. Those requesting additional information may do so by calling (936) 687-2394. To make camp site reservations, visitors may call (512) 389-8900.
