Certificates of appreciation presented at meeting

At their latest weekly meeting, the Rotary Club of Rusk honored the cosponsors of their upcoming "Salute to Vets," July 3-4.

Accepting certificates of appreciation from Rusk Rotary President, Toni Meador, were: Greg James, owner of Greg James Country Motors in Rusk, and Tara Crosby, representing Whitehead Enterprises, owners of the Cherokeean Herald and KTLUKWRW.

The "Salute to Vets" picnic will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Jim Hogg Park. The July 4th festivities will start at 10a.m. on the square in Rusk, with a grand "Salute to Vets" parade, complete with an antique car show, floats, and fun and games for the entire family.

Two persons were welcomed as new members of the Rotary Club of Rusk, during the March 26 meeting were Chamber of Commerce executive director Bob Goldsberry; and Elizabeth Amazeen, director of nursing at Lexington Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rusk.

The Rotary Club of Rusk meets every Wednesday at noon at the Southern Cherokee Federal Credit Union in Rusk. For further information, contact Rusk Rotary President Toni Meador at 903-683-8899.
