Donkey basketball planned A cross town rivalry occurs Thursday at the Curtis Carroll Gymnasium on the campus of Jacksonville College. The show begins at 7 p.m. Donkey basketball is coming to Jacksonville. The Relay For Life team that goes by the name "Jacksonville College's Walk of Fame" will defend their turf against the Jacksonville High School Relay For Life team. The JHS team is composed of teachers, students, support staff and administrators. Tickets to this event are available at Brookshire Brothers in Jacksonville, and the business office at Jacksonville College. Advance tickets are $5 and will be $7 at the door. Tickets may also be obtained from JHS team captain Jennifer Swedoski by contacting her at jswedoski@jacksonvilleisd. org. This event will feature donkeys provided by Buckeye Donkey Ball of Mt. Sterling, Ohio. Buckeye, in business since 1934, is the oldest and largest donkey ball company in the world. The company is known for a donkey named "Honey Pot," a world famous comedy donkey that is 400 pounds of pure dynamite. His billing is that he is "rough and tough and hard to bluff, and hasn't been ridden in years." All proceeds will benefit the Cherokee County Relay For Life scheduled for Friday April 25 on the campus of Jacksonville High School. |
