Leland Acker is on the mark with softball coverage, recent columns
DARVIN COLLINS
I really enjoyed Leland Acker's column, "Staying Focused on the Finish Line." (See March 19 issue.) It was very well written and inspirational.

I hope our young men and women in our community will take time to read it and take to heart what is most important in life: Jesus Christ.

If we keep Christ as our main focus in our daily lives, we can truly do all things in Christ as Paul tells us in Phillipians 4:13.

Being a Rusk High School softball dad, also thank you for your coverage of our Lady Eagle softball team.

I really enjoyed your "Select Impact" article as well. (See March 19 issue.)

My daughter has played select ball since age 11. These kids play and practice year round and they really love the game.

The best part of travel ball is meeting and making friends all over Texas and East Texas. No matter where or whom we play we always find parent friends across the field.

Our Lady Eagles work really hard representing Rusk and their community wherever they play.

You can't find a closer/better group of young ladies in East Texas.

You will notice our young ladies begin and end each game with a team prayer.

Also I think we have been blessed to have Coach Mac lead our girls this year. She is Christian and is a positive role model for our daughters on and off the field.

She has a vision for our RHS softball program and has a passion for the game, having been a four-year starting catcher in college.
