DOYLE EDWARD PEARSON

Funeral services for Doyle Edward Pearson, 77, of Rusk was at 11 a.m., Monday in the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Copeland and the Rev. Billy Don Garner officiating. Burial was in Muse Cemetery.

Mr. Pearson died March 21. He was born March 30, 1930, in Rusk to Jessie Edward and Laura Lee Massey Pearson. He was a lifelong resident of Rusk and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

He retired from Rusk State Hospital in 1993 after 32 years of service.

Preceding him in death were two brothers, Jessie Estelle Pearson and Earnest Pearson; and a sister, Nola Horton.

Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Mona Pearson of Rusk; a son and daughter-in-law, Danny Leon and Tamara Pearson of Rusk; two daughters, Doyla Ann Cannon of Tyler and Brenda Gayle Mozingo of Kansas City, Kan.; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Howard Walker of Rusk; four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Joseph Bowman, Joel Bowman, Tommy McElroy, Norman Lewis, Scott Bass and J.L. Foreman.

Honorary pallbearers were Leon Walker, Dwayne Walker and Maynard Carnes.
