Cherokee Civic Theatre notes 35th anniversary

Plans underway for new private elementary school in Jacksonville
      A new, tuition-based elementary school, for students ages 5-10 years, is planned for the Jacksonville area. Karen Hendley, local educator, is looking for interested, founding families who would like to be a part of the establishment of the school. She is also seeking an appropriate school site.

Christians Against Substance Abuse program offered in Rusk
      Persons with drug or alcohol problems are invited to attend Christian Against Substance Abuse (CASA) group meetings. The sessions are held at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, beginning April 1, at the Rusk Church of Christ. The church is located at 397 S. Main St., Rusk.
