      The Rusk Eagles are beginning to gain traction in District 20 3A baseball action as the Feathered Flock is coming off of a 9-4 win over Center Friday. Trent Halbert got the start for the Eagles with Stephen Halbert picking up the win.

      The Alto Yellowjackets are on a roll following two consecutive wins in the opening week of district play. Alto crushed Martinsville 15-2 and defeated Douglass 8-1. "Tarlandus Mitchell was the winning pitcher in the Martinsville game," Head Coach John Paul Dixon said.

Tribe beats Whitehouse

      In keeping with a long family tradition of great baseball players, Terrance Canady hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to give Jacksonville a 3-1 lead over the Whitehouse Wildcats in District 12 4A action Friday. Jacksonville went on to win 5-4.
