Vote recount to be held today in Pct. 2 Constable race

A vote recount will be conducted today at 10 a.m. at the Cherokee County Clerk's office in the Constable, Precinct 2 race.

Republican candidate Jake Carter, who garnered 413 votes, requested the recount against Jack White, who won 417 votes.

All provisional and military votes have been accounted for, and the vote count is unchanged from the Primary Election on March 4.

Following today's outcome, the winner in the recount will face Democratic candidate Mark Green in the Nov. 4 general election.
