Regular donor

Martha DeRouen, a phlebotomist with the Blood Center East Texas, draws blood from Cedric Edwards. Mr. Edwards' son, Anthony, has Sickle Cell Anemia and requires regular blood transfusions from donors with specially matched blood most often found in individuals of the same ethnicity. Anthony is featured in the 2008 Commit for Life calendar to encourage more African-Americans to donate blood for sickle cell patients like him.
