RHS scholarship will honor an extraordinary life
TERRI DANIEL
Dear Friend,

8 June 2007

"Today, I finally arrived in Liberia! Help me while I'm here to be a light brighter than any has shone before."

These were Collin Carroll's written words as he arrived in Liberia to volunteer with Mercy Ships, Int.

Today, we give you an opportunity to keep Collin's light shining by helping establish the Collin Carroll Memorial Scholarship.

It is the desire of many of Collin's friends that he never be forgotten in Rusk. With his family's consent, we wish to honor his life as a Christian, a scholar, an athlete and a role model among his peers throughout his attendance as a student in the Rusk Independent School District and beyond.

He spent 13 years as a Rusk Eagle, graduating in 2003. He then attended Tyler Jr. College on a Top Ten Academic Scholarship for one year and transferred to Texas A&M University where he graduated proudly as an Aggie with a Bachelors of Biomedical Science in December 2006.

We would like to give you the opportunity to donate a memorial gift to this scholarship, which will be awarded to a deserving senior at Rusk High School beginning this year with the class of 2008, and continuing throughout the coming years.

The scholarship committee is following legal steps to form a tax-deductible organization for the sole benefit of creating a perpetual scholarship fund in Collin's memory.

Therefore, your contributions will be entirely tax-deductible and will go directly to further a Rusk High School senior's college education.

Because of Collin's desire to help others and seek God's path for his life, his friends could think of no better way to honor and preserve his memory. If you would like to be a part of this tribute to an extraordinary young man, please send your contributions to the following address:
