Internet safety seminar scheduled at JHS

JISD will present "Internet Safety" with Janet Corder at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11 in the Jacksonville High School auditorium. Ms. Corder currently serves as a vice-president in the Texas Computer Education Association and is employed by Carroll ISD as Instructional Technology Coordinator.

This seminar will help parents and the community learn about the dangers associated with popular networking sites such as MySpace, Xanga, and Facebook. Gain insight on chat rooms, blogs, cyber-bullying and find out what personal information a child may post on the internet. Challenge of parents and educators is to encourage the advantages of the internet and at the same time protect children/students from predators in cyberspace.

This is a free seminar and everyone in the community is encouraged to attend.
