Theresa Carr honored at event

The Texas Computer Education Association has selected Theresa Carr, Jacksonville High School Campus technologist, as a finalist for the technical support person of the year award. She was announced as one of three finalists at the TCEA annual convention in Austin in early February.

Ms. Carr was selected by a committee of TCEA members from among the nominees.

The technical support person of the year recognizes exemplary support personnel who make a significant contribution to the successful use of technology on a campus or at the district level.

Awards were presented to a classroom teacher, librarian, technology administrator, instructional technology specialist, administrator, superintendent and technical support person of the year.

The winners and finalists were presented with plaques at a private awards ceremony and were also honored during the keynote session, both at the convention. The winner received $1,000 from TCEA and the two finalists each received $500.

The Texas Computer Education Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction. It has more than 9,000 members in the state of Texas.

More than 13,000 people attended this year's convention.
