Rusk places 1st in UIL competition

Rusk Elementary School and Rusk Intermediate School jointly brought home the winning trophy for UIL compettion. This is the seventh year for Rusk Elementary to win the honor.

Second and third grades are at the elementary school and fourth and fifth grades at the intermediate school.

Jan Evans, elementary school principal said, "I am proud of all our student who placed and those who participated."

Second grade winners were creative writing, Emily Boales, first and Jace Rogers, second; oral reading, Kristin Brannon, first.

Third grade winners were ready writing, Claire Gresham, fifth; storytelling, Patrick Ball, first and Raven Newby, second; oral reading, Jaci Largent, first, Clara Richardson, second and Trace Dominy, third; spelling, Charles Garner, first and Jocelyn Swindell, fifth; music memory, Grace Nimitz, second with a perfect paper.
