Early voting underway Early voting for the March 4 Democratic and Republican elections began Tuesday. Early voting will continue from 8 a.m.-5 pm. Monday- Friday through Feb. 29 at the Cherokee County Clerk's office, the Senior Citizens Center in Jacksonville and A. Frank Smith United Methodist Church in Alto. The early voting polls will be open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24. Polls will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4. Applications for mail ballots must be received no later than the close of business on Feb. 26. Election day polling sites are: Box 10, Rusk Civic Center; Box 11, Blounts Chapel Church; Box 12,, Gallatin Community Center; Box 13, Maydelle Fire Station; Box 14, Corinth Baptist Church; Box 15, Tyler Street Baptist Church in Jacksonville; Box 16, Dialville United Methodist Church; Box 23, Salem Baptist Church; Box 24, Cherokee Civic Theater; Box 25, Wells fire station; Box 26, County Barn in Alto; Box 27, Alto Fire Station; Box 28, Maydelle Assembly of God Church; Box 29, Forrest Baptist Church; Box 32, Mount Selman Baptist Church; Box 33, Reese Community Center; Box 34, Mixon First Baptist Church; Box 35, Cove Springs Community Church; Box 36, New Hope Baptist Church; Box 37, Mount Haven CME Church; Box 38, Jacksonville Activity Center; Box 42, Old Elberta School; Box 43, Jacksonville Public Library; Box 44, Tecula Baptist Church; Box 45, New Summerfield City Hall; Box 46, Blackjack Baptist Church; and Box 47, Ponta First Baptist Church. |
