NEWS Supper, cake auction benefits FFA students A hamburger supper and cake auction will benefit the Alto FFA and Junior FFA Buyers Group. The event is planned for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at the Alto Fire Station. Driver's education classes begin March 10 Driver's education classes begin March 10 for Rusk ISD students. Coach Marks Lanham is the instructor. Cost is $225 and is due by April 15. All students must be 15 by April 15 to participate in the course. To register students should have social security card and an original or certified copy of their birth certificate. Fund benefits cancer victim A fund has been set up at Southern Cherokee Federal Credit Union to benefit Noel Dominy, 16, cancer victim. Son of Maylyn Dominy and Dwayne Dominy, Noel, will go to Boston for surgery. The fund raiser will be used to finance his trip. Christian writers meet Feb. 21 The East Texas Chapter of Inspirational Writers Alive! will meet at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at First Church of the Nazarene, corner of Beaumont and Bryan streets in Jacksonville. All writers interested in writing Christian material are invited to join in and learn ways to market their writing. One may bring three-five pages of manuscript to share in critique. This chapter is now in its 13th year. |
