Lady Eagles to play in Hudson tourney this weekend

The Rusk Lady Eagles softball team will play in the Hudson softball tournament Thursday through Saturday. Both varsity and JV teams will be competing. The Lady Eagles will then travel to Livingston Tuesday, Feb. 19.

Rusk is coming off of a 23-13-2 season with a 9-5 district mark. The Lady Eagles advanced to the regional quarterfinals before being eliminated by District 20-3A champion Huntington.

Rusk lost one senior to graduation last year. Pitchers Callie Collins and Cami Curtis, along with power-hitters Sierra Smith and Rachel Mahaffey return this season.
