JUNE WALKER COOPER Funeral for June Walker Cooper, 92, formerly of Rusk, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17, at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Cooper died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008 in Kingwood. She was born June, 7, 1915, in Palestine, to George Percy and Ethel Mae Walker. On July 20, 1930, she married Raymond Jesse Cooper. They lived in Jacksonville until the summer of 1959 when they purchased the Piggly Wiggly Store in Rusk and operated it until their retirement in 1978. Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Rusk First Baptist Church, Daughters of The Republic of Texas, Daughters of The American Revolution, Beta Sigma Phi, Rusk Library Study Club and the Rusk Garden Club winning several awards for her floral arrangements. She played the piano and belonged to three bridge clubs in Rusk. She moved to Eden Terrace Retirement Home in Kingwood in December 2004. Preceding her in death was her husband of 53 years, Raymond Cooper. Survivors are her sister, Emma Jean Cook of The Woodlands, three daughters and a son-in-law, Melba Jean Darrow of Jacksonville, Sylvia Ann Gould of Mt. Selman, and Katherine Louise and Frank Rogers; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Joe Ballard, Paul Ballard, Robbie Wesley, Richey Gould, Paul Gould, Frank Rogers, Ricky Gould and Tommy Gould. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Moore, Mike Cook, Wally Gould, Ray Gould, Pat Nuse, Joseph Smith, Micah Hoffpauir, Justin Roppolo, Craig Lucky, Robert Wesley and Audis Smith. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Rusk Library Study Club, c/o Dolly Lofton, 1104 E. 4th St, Rusk, 75785 or The American Cancer Society, 1301 S.
