Precinct 3 constable injured in automobile accident

Precinct 3 Constable Eddie Lee is in stable condition in Tyler Mother Frances Hospital's Intensive Care Unit after suffering injuries in an automobile accident Monday.

Jacksonville Police Officer Paul Allen, who investigated the accident, failed to return several phone calls to the Cherokeean Herald.

The constable's wife, said Tuesday morning that her husband was suffering from a pinched nerve and was uncomfortable and in a lot of pain. "Hopefully, he will be moved to a room today (Tuesday)," she said.

Mrs. Lee said she had not been able to talk with the police officer and really did not know what happened.

His vehicle was hit on the passenger's side at the intersection of North Bolton and Cherokee streets in Jacksonville, she said. He was care flighted to the Tyler hospital.

Registration for the upcoming Rusk Baseball/Softball Association season will be held every Saturday until March 8. There will be no late signups taken after that date.

Registration fees are: $30 for all Pre T-Ball players (ages 3-4), $55 for T-Ball through Junior Divisions.

A $10 price break is offered for those with more than one child enrolled in T-Ball.

The opening ceremonies for the 2008 season will be on Saturday, April 26.
