TEXAS BETA OMEGA MASTER CHAPTER The Texas Beta Omega master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi traveled to Tyler to celebrate Thanksgiving with a shopping trip and lunch at the Southern Magnolia Eatery. Those making the trip were Rona Long, Sarah Summers, Mary B. Hassell, Genelle Richards, Jimmye Watson and Opal Fitts. Christmas was celebrated in the home of Mrs. Hassell with lunch prepared by the social committee, followed by exchange of secret sisters gifts. The chapter met in the home of Mrs. Long on Jan. 15 with Melba Darrow and Mrs. Hassell serving as hostesses. The service committee reported that a birthday and Christmas gift had been taken to the sponsored nursing home resident, Bertha Gipson. A report was given on the sale of the Footbridge Cookbooks. There are only nine copies left for sale. Due to illness, long-time member, Mildred Chapman, will be placed on the member-at-large status. Mrs. Hassell gave a program on "Sisters are forever" and Mrs. Long shared a poem, "A Christmas Card List." Refreshments were served. |
