Award-winning song writer visits schools, Roland's Next Door

Steve Seskin, the singer-songwriter whose resume includes the 1999 Mark Wills hit, Don't Laugh at Me, will perform at Roland's Next Door, 102 N. Ragsdale in Jacksonville after visiting two Cherokee County schools.

Mr. Seskin will present assemblies at 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at the Rusk ISD Auditorium between the Rusk High School and Rusk Junior High schools.

Mr. Seskin will then hold an assembly at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 31 at Jacksonville Christian School. He will then perform at 7:30 p.m. at Roland's Next Door in Jacksonville.

He will wrap up his tour of Cherokee County by holding an assembly at 9:30 a.m., Feb. 1 at Nichols Intermediate School in Jacksonville.

Don't Laugh at Me was used as the theme of the "Operation Respect/Don't Laugh at Me" project, a curriculum to teach tolerance in schools. It was also made into a children's book in 2002.
