RUSK KIWANIS CLUB The Rusk Kiwanis Club met Jan.15. when Kelley Garner, president, reviewed upcoming activities which included Karing for Kids Health Fair, Feb. 9; Culpepper & Merriweather Circus, March 21 and the annual Rummage Sale. Kelly Clay introduced John Nickel, speaker. Mr. Nickel provided a program on beginning a youth stamp collecting club in Rusk. Youth need to be 10-17 years of age. Mr. Nickel talked about the art of stamp collecting can be enjoyed by people of all ages. "Some 40 Rusk Jr. High students have shown an interest in joining the club and there are plans to work with the Rusk Scouting programs to provide assistance for scouts in receiving their merit badge in stamp collecting." Mr. Nickel said. The newly formed club meets the first Saturday of each month at the Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Rusk. Interested persons are asked to contact Mr. Nickel at (903)683-1252. The Kiwanis Club is an international group of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time.
