Program on lighthouses

President Vic Whadford began the meeting by asking for recognition of special guests who were Norma Daniel, Boots Burfoot, Cliff and Lucy Horton. Mr. Whadford read a 'thank you' card from Dan and Mona West for the flowers sent to their daughters service. A golf tournament in memory of Collin Carroll is planned for March 15. Jeffrey Johnson has been instrumental in developing these plans. Charlie Burfoot introduced the program, which was presented by the Rev. and Mrs. Horton, who showed a video of many of the 500 Lighthouses in America. They visited 62 of these lighthouses as they spent 50 weeks traveling 25,225 miles in their Airstream. They traveled on the West and East Coast and along the Great Lakes. Mrs. Horton had a large map of America on the table for all to see and she had drawn colored lines showing their trip and she placed small replicas of each lighthouse they visited at its location on the map. They passed leaflets to everyone on 25 observations of a Tin Can Tourist, which is a person that has traveled in an Airstream or camper vehicle.
