Kickoff for Relay for Life planned

Kickoff party for the 2008 Relay For Life of Cherokee County is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22 at the Cherokee County Electric Co-Op Building, U.S. Highway 69.

Theme selection for the 2008 Relay For Life is "Lights, Camera, Action…and the Oscar goes to…The Cure." The Relay Committee has set aggressive goals for the April 25 event. They hope to have 50 teams, 1000 luminaria, 200 survivors and fund raising in the 100K range. The event will be held at Mauldin Field on the campus of Jacksonville High School. Anyone who has an interest in participating in Relay For Life 2008 is encouraged to attend this kick-off party. There will be opportunities for underwriting and sponsorships, team formation, survivor registration, and committee positions are still available for anyone wanting to serve on the organizational committee.
