Russell graduates

from advanced training

Army Pfc. J.B. Russell has graduated from the Petroleum Supply Specialist Advanced Individual Training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

The course is designed to train students in receipt, storage, issue, shipping and distribution of petroleum, oil and lubricant products used by the Army. Training included instruction in petroleum and water accounting, operating equipment associated with fuels and water distribution; and fueling and defueling operations and procedures on vehicles, aircraft and stationary equipment.

Pfc. Russell is the grandson of J.B. Fletcher of S. Marcus St and Thelma Fletcher, both of Alto.

The private graduated in the year 2000 from Alto High School.

Brewer graduates

from basic training

Army Spec. Joe L. Brewer has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics.

He is the son of Charlie Brewer of Meadowhill Drive, Jacksonville.

The specialist is a 2000 graduate of Jacksonville High School and received a bachelor's degree in 2006 from Dallas Baptist University.

Campbell completes Air

Force training

Air Force Airman Stanley N. Campbell has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and military customs and courtesies; performed drill and ceremony marches, and received physical training, rifle marksmanship, field training exercises, and special training in human relations.

In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Airman Campbell earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Stanley Campbell of Park St., Rusk and grandson of Billy S. Trimble of Johns St., Jacksonville.

The airman is a 2007 graduate of Rusk High School.

Kimbrell graduates basic

training

Army Pvt. Craig N. Kimbrell has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics.

He is the son of Dale and Sloane Kimbrell of Earl St., Jacksonville.

Pvt. Kimbrell is a 2007 graduate of Jacksonville High School.

Hall completes basic

combat training

Army Reserve Pvt. Joseph H. Hall has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission and received instruction and training exercises in drill and ceremonies, Army history, core values and traditions, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, rifle marksmanship, weapons use, map reading and land navigation, foot marches, armed and unarmed combat, and field maneuvers and tactics.

Pvt. Hall is the son of Kris and Brenda Mettlen of County Road 2610, Alto.

Sotelo completes basic

infantry training

Army Pvt. Joseph A. Sotelo has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning in Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

He is the son of Keith and Rosie Sotelo of E. Cherokee St., Jacksonville.

Sotelo is a 2007 graduate of Jacksonville High School.
