THELMA NEAL SMITH

Graveside service for Thelma Neal Smith, 89, of Rusk will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Don Copeland officiating.

Mrs. Smith died Jan. 6. She was born August 14, 1918, in Maydelle to Louis and Lottie Neal.

Mrs. Smith lived in Rusk most of her life. She retired from Rusk State Hospital in 1982 after 21 years of service. She lived in Tyler for the past six years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rusk.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 42 years Elbert Smith; daughter-in-law, Paula Smith; and sister Opal Allen.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Mary Smith of Bullard; granddaughter, Stacy Smith of Magnolia; step-grandson, Kent Peters of Rusk; sister, Maxine Scott of Tyler; great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
