CARROLL BETTIS Funeral for Carroll Bettis, 76,was held at 2 p.m. Jan. 5 at theAutry Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Dr. Pete Freeman and the Rev. Steve Edwards officiated. Burial was in Union Grove Cemetery. Mr. Bettis died Thursday, Jan. 3. He was born Oct. 15, 1931, in Donaldson, Ark. to Marvin and Oneda Haltom Bettis. He served as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War. He was a member and deacon at Central Baptist Church and a Gideon. He managed Bek's Restaurants in Dallas for approximately 40 years. Mr. Bettis was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis Bettis. Survivors are his wife, Joy Bettis of Jacksonville; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Becky Bettis of Brownsboro and a sister, Audrey Stow of Arkadelphia, Ark.; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews include the youngest great-great-nephew, Mikal Whitten. Pallbearers were Ed Snider, Russell LeBlanc, Ronny Lee, Jeff Horton, Micheal Whitten, John Bettis, Frank Goodson and Wyndel Cummins. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Central Baptist, Gideons and Ralph George, Bill Lovelady and Chris Lindsey. |
