LULA FAYE MALLARD WARMSLEY

Funeral for Lula Faye Mallard Warmsley, 64, of Jacksonville, was at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the Woodville CME Church with the Rev. Phal Carter, Rev. Joe Radford, Rev. K.B. Clater and the Rev. Vandell Smith officiating. Burial was in Woodville Cemetery.

Mrs. Warmsley died Dec. 27. She was born Dec. 18, 1942, in Rusk.

She attended Fred Douglass and graduated from G.W. Bradford High School She received her bachelor of arts and science degree in business and masters degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. She was a lifelong Cherokee County resident.

She was a member of the Woodville CME Church and later united with Rising Star Baptist Church. She was employed with PSI Inc. in Tyler. She was a member of the board of directors of the regional and state associations of Texas Head Start, where she served as president, board of directors for goals for Jacksonville, member of Cherokee County Interagency Council, member of the Cherokee Health Advisory Board and member of the Black Citizens for Positive Change. She had membership in Who's Who Registry limited to persons who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in the occupations.

Survivors are her husband, Eugene Warmsley of Shreveport, La.; her mother, Vesta Richards of Jacksonville; a step-son, Bernard Warmsley of San Bernadina, Calif.; a step-daughter, Tenesha Warmsley of Shreveport; special friend, Vernice Johnson of Jacksonville and several aunts and cousins.

Pallbearers were Melvin Session, Walter Session, John D. Griffith, Joe Teague, Aaron Howard and Dee Session.

Williams Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
