Awards presented to club members Jan. 3

President Vic Whadford presented awards at the Jan. 3 Rusk Lions Club meeting. The awards came with comments of satisfaction for the achievers. First award given to Dan West included a plaque which read, "The Rusk Lions Club Chili King." Mr. West was instrumental in organizing and operating the best fund raiser- - the chili supper. He began this several years ago and it is still enjoyed by a large number of people each year. The second award went to Evelyn Stewart for being the best seller of fund raising tickets this year. She was awarded a gift certificate for $10 to the Sweet Shoppe Rock. The third award went to Charlie Burfoot for being in second place this year with ticket sales. He was awarded a $5 gift certificate to the Sweet Shoppe Rock. In past years he had always been first in ticket sales. The fourth award for ticket sales went to Lion Billy Watson. He was awarded a coffee cup from a local bank so that he and the president could have a cup of free coffee.

The Rusk Chamber of Commerce has offered the Rusk Lions the opportunity to sponsor in the Dream Tree project or the Christmas parade. Mr. Whadford and Charlie Burfoot will meet soon with the chamber to present the project which will be chosen by the Rusk Lions Club.
