Teacher is honored

SHERYL HANNA

Members of the Jacksonville College faculty and staff surprised Sheryl Hanna with a graduation party at noon Dec. 14 at the Larissa House in Jacksonville.

Mrs. Hanna graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, with a Master of Arts degree in Music with a 4.0 GPA. Mrs. Hanna attended Jacksonville College and received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the Sam Houston State University in 1982. She is a member of Tau Beta Sigma and Phi Theta Kappa, Texas Choral Directors Association and Texas Music Educators Association. Since 2002, she has been employed at Jacksonville College as director of vocal ensembles.

A resident of Jacksonville for nine years, Mrs. Hanna has two sons, Aaron David Hanna, 21, and Stephen Michael Hanna, 17. She is the daughter of Marvin and Wanda Robison, also of Jacksonville.
