Ms. Little announces

LINDA LITTLE
Linda Little has announced her candidacy for the position of Cherokee County Tax Assessor/ Collector. She offers more than 23 years of experience in the private and public sector . This includes budgeting, recruiting, interviewing and hiring, training, public speaking, resolving dissatisfied customers' complaints, performing diverse problem solving tasks and coordinating interdepartmental work flow and cooperation.

Mrs. Little was appointed more than 13 years ago as Cherokee County's first internal auditor. She set up an on-going auditing program in each office that collects county revenue. Mrs. Little also set up the first computerized database for county assets. She established an on-going audit program for inventory assigned to county departments. At the time of implementation, the county's inventory was valued at approximately $1.4 million dollars. Prior to her service in the county, she spent more than 10 years in the cable television industry where she served as customer service supervisor/human resource coordinator, business manager, and district office manager.

She is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in business administration. She and her husband live in Rusk. They attend First United Methodist Church, where she is a member of the chancel choir and hand bell choir.
