Jacksonville woman files for commissioner Pct. 3 Dr. Katherine Pinotti, 54, of Jacksonville has announced her candidacy for the Republican nomination for Precinct 3 County Commissioner. She is currently teaching health science in the career and technology department at Jacksonville High School. Dr. Pinotti graduated from Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena and attended TCJC in Fort Worth and A&M University. She also has a master's degree in biology and in education. Before obtaining her Texas teaching certification in August, she taught anatomy, physiology and microbiology at Jacksonville College where she was named teacher of the year in 2005. She developed and directed an allied health program to provide training in medical assisting at Texas College in Tyler. Prior to going to Texas College she was in private practice for more than 18 years as a chiropractic physician in Houston. Dr. Pinotti was CEO and president of two corporations in Houston and the administrative director for three health care clinics. Before pursuing a career in the health care industry, Dr. Pinotti obtained her associate's degree in architectural drafting and worked as a civil draftsman and surveyor for the City of Fayetteville for more than five years. Dr. Pinotti is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Jacksonville. She is married with four children and three grandchildren. She and her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Pinotti, moved to Cherokee County in the spring of 2000 from Houston She wanted to get involved with the community. She completed the leadership training course offered by the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and served as the executive secretary for the Jacksonville Baseball Association for two years. She also taught soccer for the Jacksonville Christian school where two of her children graduated. Her daughter, Sarah, is attending Tyler Junior College on scholarships she obtained through the FFA. Her son, James Pinotti, is on the AB honor roll at Jacksonville High school, a member of the Health Science Club, and plays trumpet in the school band. Dr. Pinotti is a certified instructor in CPR and First Aid through the American Heart Association and has completed Disaster Training with the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Texas State Guard for more than three years and was appointed medical commander for the State of Texas by Gov. Ann Richards, holding the rank of Captain. "I feel that my strong background in highway maintenance, business administration, health care, Federal grant procurement and government regulations, could benefit the people of Cherokee County. I promise to uphold the integrity of the office of the County Commissioner of Precinct 3. "I would appreciate your support and prayers in the coming election." |
