Memorial service for Edward B. Freeland, 69, of Houston, was at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, in the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church chapel with the Rev. Vicky Jones officiating.

Mr. Freeland died Dec. 27, 2007.

He was born Jan. 8, 1938, in Freeport to the Rev. Jesse H. and Ruth M. Freeland.

Survivors are his stepdaughter and her husband, Renee and Kenneth Crenshaw; grandson, Travis; granddaughter, Tricia, of Kilgore; stepdaughter, Debra Freeland and granddaughter, Casey Turner; granddaughter and husband, Ginger and Lee Sims and great-granddaughter, McKalee of Elkton, Ky.; son and his wife, Steve and Sung Freeland of Jersey City, N.J.; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ruth and Jim Holcomb; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Freeland and David and Lavonia Freeland, all of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
